Kids Motorized Scooters – Gas Scooter Options
Scooters for kids have come a long way since the push variety many of us grew up with. Back then, no one ever dreamed that one day they'd be powered by electricity or gas and could reach speeds at the low end of most car speedometers.
As with adult scooters, there is a variety of choice in power, accessories and prices. Kids motorized scooters covers a lot of territory including pocket bikes and foot-powered cars. For our purposes, though, we'll look at the options of specifically gas scooters.
Prices on these range from $300-$1400. Of course the higher the price tag the more accessories you get with it. Kids looking at driving something really "cool", though, will be at a loss because many of the cool designs are in the electric/battery operated side of the industry.
Still, as when you go shopping for the appropriate sized motorized scooter for your kid, you will have some decisions to make. The most important of which will be buying the model that your child can best handle. You want your child to be safe and not put him in charge of a vehicle that is too powerful for him to keep control of. It also also important to note that in many countries, children under 16 are only allowed to ride their gas powered scooters off road for safety reasons.
In many cases, a 4-stroke gas engine is best. It is not as powerful as a 2-stroke engine and so much more manageable for kids. However, if your older child wishes to get into stunts and jumps and such, he or she will need the power of the 2-stroke engine.
In the end, we want kids to have a safe and fun time. Motorized scooters for kids are an exciting and fun activity and have the potential of introducing our children to something that we didn't have growing up.
