Vespa scooters are the most popular kind of scooters available today. You can purchase a Vespa scooter new but if you are working with a tighter budget you can always find used Vespa scooters for sale and save some money. You can find 125cc scooters and other motor scooters for sale, but if you buy used there are a few important pointers to keep in mind.
First, try to start off right by shopping at the right stores. If you are shopping through reputable companies you have a much better chance of finding a decent quality scooter rather than going through shady personal sellers. With a public vehicle trading company you can trust in the selection they offer and do not have to be as nervous about buying your used scooter. Always take time to compare between different scooters before deciding on one. Even if you think you have found “the one” you may be surprised and end up coming across one you like even better if you take a bit of time to keep looking.
Always look at the body of a used scooter before buying. Look for accident damage, especially any which was hastily covered up. Someone may have gotten into an accident on their scooter and tried to repair the damage quick to sell it and make some money. Check the paint and see what sort of quality paint is used along the body. Make sure the tires do not have holes and look the seats over to ensure they are in good shape and not dirty or covered in scratches.
The motor is the most important part of the engine in a motor scooter. Turn the motor on and let it idle for a few minutes to see whether there are any leaks, if there is any smoke coming out and to check all the lights. If the brake or other lights are not working they can be easily repaired but you may want to inquire and see if the seller will get this fixed for you before you buy. Inquire about the history of a scooter before deciding whether to buy it. Any seller should be more than happy to talk with you and give you the background of at least the past few most recent years on the scooter. This includes any repair work, modifications or accidents.
